Overview

If you're receiving unemployment insurance benefits in New York State, you must actively search for work and keep detailed records of your job search activities. The New York State Department of Labor (NYDOL) requires specific documentation to maintain your benefits.

Important: You must conduct at least 3 work search activities per week and maintain records for each activity. Failure to meet these requirements may result in benefit denial or overpayment recovery.
